Peek-a-boo!!

I finally took time to take some pictures of my kids today. I've been trying to do a monthly photo shoot with my kids so I can get some nice photos for a calendar. I mostly got photos of Kiah... go figure :) Evan is just to busy and I can't keep up with him. Maybe next month I will focus more on him. I will probably be posting more on my photo blog later but here are some fun pictures of Kiah for now...

Rambling..... please don't get too bored.....

This week will probably be kinda boring for me. Only because it's going to be crazy for Dallas. Today he got his exiting exam project that he has a week to finish. Then he has to present it next Friday. To top that off he has an interview on Thursday in Wisconsin (I am in no way complaining :)). He leaves tomorrow afternoon and he will be back Thursday evening. He's taking the laptop so he can work on his project while he's gone. Basically, I will be stuck at home for the next two days with no car and no computer :( So I guess I will be reading lots and enjoying time at our playground here at our complex.  Hopefully this nice weather sticks around for me so I don't go crazy. Two days without a computer shouldn't be such a big deal.... I guess I will be okay.

I do have some things to look forward to... Since I am getting into this photography thing, Dallas and I decided that I needed a computer with more space and more speed. I am hoping to actually go into business by the end of the year (Fall maybe?). So I talked to my Uncle who sells computers and he is hooking me up with an awesome computer :) It is actually on it's way and should be here on Friday!! After that comes I will be able to get another Photoshop trial (so I can edit Kim's photos.... finally) and then hopefully get Photoshop before Dallas graduates (Yeay for student discounts!!). I am getting so excited about all this photography stuff and I can't wait to actually go into business with it.

About all this photo excitement.... I am always looking for opportunities to take portraits. If you (or someone you know) would like your photos done let me know (just comment or send me an email). I am trying too get as much practice in as possible and I am also trying to get a portfolio together. I can do portraits for families, kids, couples, babies, and high school seniors. Please let me know if you would like a free session and a free CD with all the images. I would love to help you out. This is a great deal that won't always be around :) With that I will stop boring you all to death and leave you with a second preview to my latest photo shoot....

Molly was just adorable... the most photogenic child ever :) She has the most natural, beautiful smile!

So much to show and tell.....

Bethany came to visit. And then she left. It all came and went too quickly. But we had a blast! I picked her up from the airport last Saturday... empty handed. Her bag was waiting back in Denver.... we could only picture it alone, on a empty carousal waiting. Lucky for us the airport had it too us by the next night. It was quite fun seeing Bethany the next day in my clothes. We already look so much alike and then throw her in my wardrobe and you have to do a double take to figure out who is who :) The kids adore her and still wonder why she isn't around anymore. Our week was awesome... On Monday Bethany helped me with a photo shoot, we took the kids to Monkey Joes, and we ate at Cici's Pizza (very much worth it... yum!). Tuesday we went on a Antique Shop Extravaganza :) Bethany and I had fun taking random photos and Bethany found a fun bag. That night we went to a baby shower for Melissa and Becky at Kathy's Kandies. It was a Death by Chocolate (fondue) party and it was tasty! Bethany got to meet some of my mommy friends and join in on our mommy talk... hope she didn't mind :) On Wednesday we went to Tapawingo park to show Bethany some sites (and to take more photos:)) and later that day Bethany and I went shopping.... you know... girl stuff. Thursday was our last day and we went down to the Indy Zoo. I am so glad we went... the weather was great and the kids had fun and we got to pet sharks!! That was the highlight of my day :) So awesome. We also got to see a short dolphin show and of course we enjoyed all the lions and tigers and bears. After the zoo we rushed Bethany to the airport and said our farewells *tear* we will miss her!! We really enjoyed having a visitor (hint, hint :)) and we sure hope we didn't ware her out (or bore her to death). Okay... now for the photos!! I'll try to post them in order....

Antique shops...

Oh I love this shot!

I absolutely love this photo of Bethany. We found so many cool mirrors at the Antique shops.... I put this photo on my photo blog for this week's theme at iheartfaces :) (Look closely and you can see me! Darn it!)

Bethany has an awesome telephoto lens :) I took some pics of the monkey's with it... one day I will have my own (lens... not a monkey).

Here is one of the stalker photos that I took with the telephoto lens :) Love it.

Bethany doing her thing with that lens :)

Dolphins!!

Sleepy drive home...

So, while we were at the zoo Evan was obsessed with my camera. I just decided that he probably decided that he loves to take pics because Bethany has a camera too. I think he just wants to be like her :) He took this photo of me on the way home (along with several others...)

We can't wait till Bethany visits again!!!

Bethany is here! .....and a sneak peek.....

Bethany flew in on Saturday :) So far we've had a lot of fun... and the kids love having her here. Today Bethany and I took photos for Kim and her family. We also had some fun taking some random photos. It's so fun having a photography friend :) Dallas gets sick of all my photos and editing...

Every photographer needs a few camera shots.

Bethany's dream bike :)

Here is a little sneak peek from our photo shoot... isn't Molly the cutest? She loved the camera...

More photos coming...

A few more things to tell ya.....

Dallas had an interview this week with the American Doll company :) I think that is kinda awesome... both Dallas and I are hoping for this one! It was a phone interview and it went really well. Dallas said that the man he talked to was really relaxed and that made it a fun interview... not as nerve racking as his interview last week with Travelers Insurance. They are going to get back with him within a week and if they like him he will be interviewing again in Wisconsin. So now we are waiting to hear from them as well as Travelers Insurance. We are crossing our fingers for something good to happen!

On Wednesday Kiah bit a hole in her binky.... I can't decide if this is harder on her or myself. Farewell binky... without you there is a lot of crying and whining. Hopefully Kiah gets over this soon (and hopefully I don't go crazy). I think it is a good thing though... yesterday in the car she was singing something in the back seat. I am excited to hear more of this... and talking. She has always been so quiet with the binky in her mouth all the time. There has definitely been more chattering going on the past two days.

Today is my Mom's Birthday, Happy "Dirbay" Grandma! Evan has been singing to you all day :) I finally got him to do it for the camera... enjoy :)

My drama for the week

On Tuesday I cut my hand open while doing the dishes. I put my hand in a glass to wash it and it just snapped and cut my skin open. I just stood there and stared at it not knowing what to do. It wasn't just a slice, it was gouged up pretty good. I finally covered it with a clean towel and called a friend. When she didn't answer I realized I should be calling Ann (who is a nurse). She came and took one look at it and said, stitches. Grrrr. Thankfully Ann came with me because I was a basket case and I hate needles and stitches. I thought I was going to pass out just thinking about it. The whole time I was thinking... I've had two C-sections and I can't handle this?? I am not as baby hungry anymore just thinking of everything I went through with the first two kids. A little cut can do that to you.

Tuesday night I wasn't thinking and I used my right hand to turn a door knob and it pulled on the stitches. It hurt so bad! One of the stitches broke and another one loosened. I was so worried I'd have to go back and get it fixed, but all is well.

Wednesday night it looked really good... it actually looks a little worse today. Probably because of the scab. Ewww.

Wednesday night:

Today:

Yeah, it looks kinda gross today. That and my hands are so dry.... sorry you had to see this... earlier today I cut off the last stitch that was really loose. It wasn't doing any good and it was just bothering me. I am tempted to take them all out on my own... I am so sick of them (Don't worry Ann... I'll leave them there).

Dallas has taken good care of me... he has been doing the dishes ever since :) Evan is always asking about my owie and Kiah is always giving it kisses. I love my cute family!

Another post.....

I've been having too much fun blogging these past few days. Today I used this tutorial to put these fun fonts on my blog. It was kinda a pain, but now I have it figured out. If you need help let me know... I have fun doing stuff like this...

I think I should give blogging a break now....

A little bit of our Sunday...

WARNING: This post contains several photos.... especially of Makiah. Don't say you were not warned.

This girl loves to get dressed. The other day I went upstairs and she had pulled all of Evan's clothes out of his drawer. When I started getting her dressed this morning she took it into her own hands...

Oh man, did you notice her piggies? I can't get over how much I LOVE them (the reason for all of the photos).

A classic Kiah glare...

A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E.

Evan likes to keep to himself when I pull out the camera.

A typical Sunday for us.... Evan playing.... Kiah dressing... me taking pictures... Dallas snoozing.

Oh dear... I love these kids...

My kids are funny about food. Chicken nuggets have never been one of their favorites... until today. When they are shaped like animals they are hard to resist! That and a little ketchup... Kiah loves the ketchup.

Another glare. She was born with that look... seriously.

Mmmm ketchup.

Evan helped me make cookies... something about fast Sundays. I just crave the sweets by the time we get home.

Evan insisted on using the cookie cutter. By the time it was cooked it was a huge blob. He still loved it.

Some random rambling...

Earlier today Evan was going off about girls and boys again. He said, "Kiah's a girl and Mommy's a girl." I asked if he was a girl and he said, "No, today I am a boy."

Evan has figured out that my name is Jessica and he calls me that often. I find it cute and funny. Sometimes he calls me mom and then corrects himself and says Jessica. He says it perfectly too, most kids have a hard time saying my name. I think he picked it up from his friend Carly who also calls me Jessica :)

Kiah's new favorite word is elbow. She loves her elbows and calls them "bow-bow." She also loves her eyes and she thinks it is funny when we close our eyes for prayer. She squints her eyes and grins... I have yet to get a picture of that. Some of the things she says lately are: Daddy, Elbow, eyes, bye-bye (constantly, she loves to go bye-bye), out (out of the booster seat, out of the car seat), ma (she learned my name!), cheese, shoes, choo choo, ball, and MINE!

If you made it this far I am sorry for the looooong post. These are just things I want to remember...
