One of those days... one of those good days :)

It's been awhile since I've had a day like today... it was so perfect. Just calm... the weather has been perfect... the kids have been great... and we went blueberry picking to top it all off. I loved every second... although I did take more photos than I picked blueberries :) But I LOVE each and every picture. Each and every one will be cherished... I love my family more than anything.

My little crazies

Kiah is now in her last month as a 1 year old. Wow! That means we have almost lived in Indiana for two years... time flies. She is adorable... and she keeps me on my toes... constantly. I don't remember the last time that she slept past 6 am. This makes for a very grumpy Kiah and a very grumpy Mom. I don't do mornings. Enough said.

She loves to get dressed and she adores accessories. She is always the first one ready in the morning, all the way down to her shoes. She is ready to head out of the house before 8am almost everyday.

On Friday I went to a girls night/pamper party and I painted my toenails for the first time this summer. Kiah was fascinated with my pink toes and so I thought for the first time that maybe I should paint her toes as well. She was... hummmm whats a good word? In HEAVEN. She didn't move a muscle the whole time I painted her nails and of course I had to do her fingers as well. Why didn't I think of this sooner? I am a lame mom that's for sure. She loves her pink nails and looks at them constantly. If they chip at all she gets worried, I've already repainted them twice since Saturday.

One more thing... Kiah is obsessed with mommies, daddies, and babies. She thinks every woman is a mom and every man is a dad. She calls out "mommy, a baby!" every time she see a little one. She is such a girly girl.

Evan is another story...

  • He loves to do silly faces
  • He loves to build train tracks, then take them apart, and then put them together again
  • He refuses to ride his new bike and I try not to force it on him
  • He would rather play in the sand and build castles and cakes
  • He chatters ALL DAY LONG and doesn't stop. I love it, I really do.
  • His favorite games are: duck duck goose, hide and go seek, and red light, green light
  • He is excited about our move and he will randomly grab an empty box and pack up his toys

One more thing...

Today I got these in the mail...

I won them in a giveaway on The Maternal Lens blog from Prissy Piggies...

Aren't they just adorable?? All I have to say is that I better have more kids and hopefully a daughter :) Wouldn't these be adorable with a blessing dress? If I end up with more boys I'll have to use them as a prop in my photo business :) I love them soooo much!

Oh dear...

My kids are so cute...

and Evan is such a good big brother...

Evan "read" this whole book to Kiah and she was throughly interested... I love little moments like this.

It amazes me how well they get along and how much they love each other. Today I laid Kiah down for a nap and Evan asked where she was... I told him she was sleeping and he said... "but I need her!" He doesn't like it when she naps and he runs upstairs when he hears that she is awake. I love that they love each other so much!

Better late than never...

A couple weeks ago we (myself, Holly, her daughter Brielle, and my kids) squished three car seats into my car and headed down to Indy (now I know I can fit three car seats into my car. One day... eventually... that will come in handy... but not anytime soon). Of course we had a blast (minus Evan's crying on the way there and the girls being tired on the way home) the museum is huge and there is much more to do than we had time for. We definitely need to head back down there again.

Evan just told me that the water was his favorite part...

This Barbie exhibit is up temporarily and I am glad that we got to see it. I've got to get myself one of these pink phones...

Then we hit the runway... Kiah and Brielle just looked stunning... didn't they?

Evan knows where to be in a time like this...

After being in the Barbie exhibit for awhile Evan said "can we play with tools now?" He was just a little bored in that pink girly room.... too bad the Bob the Builder exhibit was closed... poor kid. We did have some fun on the carousal though :)

The visit

We were lucky to have Sheri and Harold's family come to visit this last week. We really had a great time and were sad when they had to leave. Evan and Kiah loved playing with James... the "baby" as they called him. He is one year old but the same size as Kiah and he is just ADORABLE!  One of the things we enjoyed doing was playing in the fountain at Purdue...

The next day we hung out at the Columbian Park Zoo...

Tyson and James :)

Can you believe how cute these little guys are??

...train ride...

Dallas, keep it up with the camera!! He has been taking some great pictures lately...

That night we went bowling at Purdue's Rack 'n Roll... Dallas wants to make this a monthly tradition :)

We went bowling on our first date :) ...only 5 years ago...

We had a fabulous time... now it's back to reality... and packing :( Thanks for coming you guys, we already miss you... come again!!

New toy

A few weeks ago Evan kicked my TV stand door and it broke clean off...

It was a sad day. Dallas and I... well, neither one of us do very well in the "fix it" area. Lucky for us Dallas' sister Sheri and her husband Harold came to visit this week.... Harold does very well in the "fix it" area. He knows his stuff :) While he was here he helped us fix the door... and a drawer in the kitchen (I was just too lazy to call maintenance). He probably would have done more if I would have let him. We sure have a great family!! Thanks to Harold... and Dallas' new toy we were able to fix our TV stand...

Helping hands...

Along with Sheri and Harold came two of my nephews, they are great kids! We had so much fun with them visiting for a few days... I'll have to update later on all the happenings. For now here is cute little James...

Daddy

Today Evan told us about his nursery class and how the sang "When Daddy Comes Home" today... then he sang it for us :) Too cute. These kids love their daddy, and they are lucky to have such a great one at that.

Since I didn't take a single picture on Mother's Day (that's Dallas' job right?) I thought I'd make up for it today. This is my new favorite photo :) Thanks Dallas!
