Just a thought...

This is such a beautiful song, I wanted to share it with everyone. The LDS church has messages on You Tube that are really neat and fun to listen to. If you have a minute listen to this song and try the link to You Tube, It's defiantly worth your time :)
I am so grateful for Joseph Smith. He sacrificed so much so we could have the gospel in our lives. Praise to the Man!

A new look...

I can't decide if I like the new look or not... so it might change again and again. I looked at my blog today and I must have done something wrong because all of the blogs in my blog list were gone! Luckily I saved all my links yesterday, it'll just take forever to put them back in. I figured I might as well change my template while I was at it.

Help?

So if any of you are familiar with blogger and changing templates I need your help! I like this site for templates and that is where I found the template I have now. I want to change my template to one of her new ones but I don't know how to save the links and pictures in my sidebar. She has tutorials but it doesn't explain it very clearly. If there is someone who knows how to do this let me know, I'd love your help!

(My blog is different now, but I only changed the picture. I still would like to know how to save my sidebar widgets. So if you know how, let me know! I'll be trying to figure it out...)

DJ and Me

Night of the Decades!
The youth in our ward had a fund raiser this month and they had a dinner and dance for the adults. We had so much fun, I felt like I was in high school again but this time with Dallas (which makes it so much better than high school!) The dinner was very yummy and we had fun getting to know people in our ward. Dancing was fun, but I think Dallas was a little self conscious so it took awhile to get him to relax. We were one of the only couples in jeans- I guess it wouldn't have hurt much to dress up. We just weren't thinking! The youth babysat at the church and Kiah didn't like that idea so she ended up with us a lot of the time. She loved the music and I decided that she was born to party! We let Evan come and dance with us at the end and he loved the balloons and disco ball! It was a great night and I hope they do it again next year.

More of the cute kids

Last week I was getting so excited to do Kiah's 9 month pictures. I have some good ideas for what I want to do and I was sad when I spoiled it by letting her get her first sunburn :( Thursday was such a nice day and we had been stuck in the house all week. We spent two hours out in the sun and did I ever think of sun block or even a hat? oh no. Mom please don't be mad when you see these pictures, I will be more careful for now on. Dallas went to get Kiah when she woke up from her nap and he came down and asked if she had a headband on that day and this is what she looked like:

On Friday I ended up getting some cute pictures of the kids (even though they had their nasty sunburns). We went to the park for a picnic with some friends and the kids couldn't get enough of the swings!

Evan sure loves playing with his friends! He followed Dylan around at the park and had lots of fun with him. It is so nice to live by so many kids his age. Kiah is noticing the people around her now and she loves to play peek-a-boo and she acts shy when people talk to her. She reaches for us when she wants to be held and she tries to wave but hasn't quite gotten that one down yet. These are the fun things I try to remember when Evan is whining and teasing Kiah or when I am up all night with Kiah. Life is hard but good and I am sure lucky to have these two crazies around!

Post a Comment Week!!!

We are getting so excited for our trip to Wyoming and Utah next month! I am a little worried about the long drive so I thought I'd ask all of you if you have any good Ideas of things for the kids to do in the car or places to stop along the way. Just post a comment with any ideas that you might have I am excited to hear your thoughts!
I found this site this morning and it had some great ideas I thought I would pass along for all you who will be traveling with kids this summer.Evan defiantly needs some distractions-he already knows how to unclip part of his seat belt! Don't forget to post a comment!

Easter

We hope that you all had a fun Easter weekend! We had fun dying eggs, Evan made it without cracking any-on accident or on purpose. Our kids have both been getting teeth so they were both grumpy on Easter. Dallas and I sang (with a group) in sacrament meeting at church and it went very well I think. That was the only part of the meeting that I heard (that and the violin musical number- good job Tracy!) Evan didn't want to sit and listen or even play like he usually does. He just cried and cried. When I left him with a friend to go and sing he was not happy! Evan finally calmed down when I let him watch the violins and he loved it! Of course nursery made him very happy!

(Pics from our egg hunt Easter morning)

All dressed up for church:)

We had a fun day! I got to teach an Easter lesson in primary and I had fun with all the kids in our class-they are so good! We had a yummy dinner and then dessert with our friends, the Fry's. As usual Dallas ate way to much, but I don't blame him the dessert was so yummy!

Here's the rest...

Here are the rest of the pictures I wanted to post. Makiah is getting so smart. She seems so small compared to Evan at this age so it is hard to believe she does the things she does. She sits up on her own now, and stands as well. She started clapping her hands this past week- I really got to get a movie of it, she is so sweet! She has a push toy that she can push around the house- I did get a movie of this one it's at the bottom of the post.
Evan is such a fun little guy to have around. He is talking so much now, and he copies everything I say. He tries to sing songs, he looooves the primary songs they sing in nursery. Every night we have to sing the temple song and the Jesus song (I'm trying to be like Jesus and Jesus wants me for a sunbeam). He bosses Kiah around and she hates it when he takes away her toys. He wants to be the baby and acts like one all the time.

She loves to rock on her giraffe
I know, I really got to get some clothes on these kids but this was just to cute. Kiah follows Evan everywhere!
Here is a preview to Makiah's 9 month photos in her cute Easter dress :)

We are all getting really excited for May to come. We will be visiting Utah and Wyoming for a few weeks and we can't wait to see you all!

This might be long...

We finally got Evan a big boy bed right before spring break. He had been sleeping in his crib that converts to a toddler bed. He was just way to big for it! He didn't sleep well at all and was always coming to sleep with us. He loves his new bed and we also got him a dresser and side table (I love craigslist!) Kiah now gets to sleep in the crib rather than the pack-n-play and I surprisingly love having them in the same room!

Today we went to a fun Easter egg hunt with people from our Stake. There were tons of eggs! It was funny too see all the little kids standing by a bunch of eggs and not knowing what to do with all of them. Evan would pick up one egg an have to play with it and open it before he would finally put it in his basket. Poor Makiah was just to cold to enjoy any of it so we didn't stay long enough to play on the playground.

Here is my new obsession, bows and clips. I have had so much fun making these! The bows clip on to a headband I made from a pair of tights (here's the how to, just scroll down)
Kiah is wearing the headband in the pictures of the egg hunt. The clips are so fun to make, I can't wait till Kiah has hair to put them in! My favorite are the flower clips, they look so cute on the headbands. I found this website today that sells these and a lot more. I got some fun ideas of things I want to make next.

This is my clip collection (so far)
Brown and pink bows
Flower clips
Random bows
Don't worry there is more to come, I still have some pictures I want to post! (and maybe some movies too)
