Lately...
It's been nice and crazy around here lately. I mentioned earlier that this semester was going to be busy for all of us, and it really is. Dallas is juggling classes, teaching a probability class, consulting, and being Mr. Mom while I am at "work." I say "work" because it really isn't too much work, just a lot of fun! I am coaching a volleyball team and I am really loving it. The girls are 7th graders but a lot of them have some experience and they have been doing really well. The kids are used to me leaving, I guess, Makiah is funny about it though. When I am at home I can't even leave the room without her crying. She also likes to be held a lot. When I do leave she is usually fine, even on Thursdays when there is a babysitter. When I get home she bolts for the door and then cries if I don't pick her up immediately. I think it is nice for them to be with their dad everyday. Dallas claims that he is now the "Mom" even though it's only for a few hours in the afternoon.
Makiah is having a hard time napping... any suggestions? She usually goes to sleep just fine but then a half an hour later she wakes up. I usually make her cry it out and she'll sleep for another half hour. That isn't enough though, the rest of the day seems to drag when she is grumpy. I think the main problem is that she is scared of any loud noises (the garbage truck in particular:)). Today I put music on for her in her room, I'll see if that works...
Next week I am starting a joy school for Evan with some of his friends. I am getting really excited :) I have been worried about the summer ending and Evan getting bored out of his mind when we can't go outside everyday. He is excited to have "school" with his friends :)
Here are some pictures of some fun things we've been doing since I've been back home...
Evan wasn't as excited as I thought he would be about visiting the Fire Station... He didn't really want anything to do with it:
September 4th: Columbian Park Zoo (We love coming here :))

I like the pictures of Evan on the mat with the trains. Such a boy! I've noticed how kids love to line up together as well. If only everything in their lives were so orderly, right?
cute pictures of all the kids. I'm getting excited too for our joy school. Amy was ready to go today! I hope she likes going.
For Kiah and the napping: I was going to suggest music. If that doesn't work, try some other "white noise" like a fan or something. You don't have to have the fan blow on her, just have it going so it blocks out other sound.
