The Whole Bateman Family

While we were in Utah for the wedding we were able to see all of Dallas' family. This is a first since I've know Dallas. Of course I have met everyone but we had not all been together at the same time. Dallas' brother Shane and family from California were able to come which was so nice, especially since they had not met Evan yet (they met Kiah last summer when she and I went to visit in Utah). The day after the wedding we all had a get together (except for the newly weds) it was fun for the kids to be with their cousins :) Here are a few pictures from the day...

It took awhile for the kids to warm up to everyone... but boy do they love grandmas and grandpas!

These two had way too much fun quoting Brian Reagan and texting each other random movie lines. I don't think they realize how much they miss each other... or maybe they just won't admit it :)

A Bateman get together just isn't the same with out a piñata...

Eli...

and his mom and sister, Elsie and Shalee...

Dallas and Sheri...

The girls, Chloe, Nicki, and Sophie...

Grams...

Dallas pretending to be interested in what ever his Dad and Shane are saying...

Mom and Julie...

Jason and Lark...

Candi and Brandon...

I know I didn't get pictures of everyone (I tried :)), but we did have a great time! There sure was a lot of effort planning the wedding and this get together, thanks to everyone for making it possible and helping us all feel so welcome! It was so nice to see EVERY ONE :)

Ross and Melanie

After all the craziness of the flight we got to enjoy Ross and Melanie's Wedding Day :) Dallas and I hadn't met Melanie before the big day (in fact we got to meet her in the Logan temple :)). They are such a great couple and I can tell they will be very happy together! Congrats Ross and Melanie!

It was a nice day, so beautiful (besides the touch of rain we got that night). It was kinda funny listening to people complain about the humidity that Utah was getting that week. I thought that it was perfect if not on the dry side :) I loved every second of the Utah weather while we were there.

The happy couple...

I loved the decorations! If I could go back in time I'd use fruit as decorations at my wedding... I loved the blueberries :)

Poor Evan didn't do so well that day. I think the long day before (last post) finally hit him. He got quite sick and even let everyone know it by throwing up at the reception. Ahhh being a mom is full of adventure!

Backup...

Okay... here I go... the catch up. Hummmm where to? I have a whole month to cover. I usually won't do this but since this month was busy with tons of family adventures I would hate to just skip over it. Hopefully I can make it enjoyable for all and not boring in the least. I am going to jump back to the end of July... We headed off to Utah on the 30th just in time for my Brother-in-law's wedding on the 31st. The trip to Utah in itself was craziness.... Are you ready for all of this? Here I go....

Before I start I have to share this clip with you... it's hilarious...and then I'll tell you about our own "horror" story from our flight...

We woke up at 4:30 am and left at 5:30am to get to the airport in time for our 8:30 flight. As soon as we got to the airport we got a call from the airline saying we had a two hour delay. Hummmph. I could have slept in. Oh well, we took our time getting through the baggage check and security. It turns out the flight crew that we were flying with got in late the night before and they had to wait a certain amount of time before they left again. So we waited and then the gate next to us was having problems.... so the unload it's passengers and then load them onto our plane. Um thanks.... we'll just stay here with the plane that doesn't work... yeah. Then we get the message that we have a second delay, another two hours. An hour and a half later they tell us that the plane isn't getting fixed anytime soon and we need to wait... again... for another plane to arrive. All this is happening in Indy... we could have been waiting at home. In all we had 3 delays and over 6 hours of waiting. What. A. Day.

The good news? The kids did great waiting, Kiah only had a hard time for the last half hour but didn't cry. And... the airline gave everyone free lunch and vouchers for future plane tickets :) Wahoo! And I have to say that I'd rather wait for a delay (or three) then have to make the two day drive with toddlers.

The bad news? We missed our friend's wedding reception that night and also missed out on some plans we had planned.... oh well....

Kiah was so cute and as soon as I set her down on her seat on the plane she zonked out. She was so tired. She slept all the way to Phoenix where we barely made our flight (our transfer was changed 3 times). Lucky for us that flight was delayed too :) Evan loved flying and laughed and smiled the whole time.

One last problem... our luggage didn't make it to our flight and we had to wait some more... we had a long day.... didn't leave the airport till 8pm Utah time. Thank goodness the kids handled all this so well :)

Too much to think about.

I don't like playing the catch up game. Unfortunately, the longer I wait to catch up the more I need to catch up on... I will get it done, I promise.

Last week we got back from a trip to Utah. We got to see everyone in both Dallas' family and my own. I am missing it already :( Evan and Kiah loved playing with all of their cousins and of course the cute dogs. They miss there grandma's and grandpa's so so much.

This is where I need to catch up, so much happened while we were there... a wedding, baptism, camping at the cabin, Cinderella play, photo shoots, seeing old friends, hanging out with my cousins and their kids, ummm yeah. Lots and lots of photos. Where to start?

Here is a little teaser until I get that all figured out... Evan and his cousin Sophie... too cute...

Unfocused

I didn't try to take this photo like this... it just happened. But I like it. The reason it happened? My lens... my poor, poor lens... it needs a little repair. It is a sad, sad day for me.

I can't wait to unveil this photo to you... and many more :) Two of my sisters and I had so much fun last week.... can't wait.

Change.

Change is good... I keep telling myself that. It's refreshing in a way. We went home... to Utah these past few weeks. I will always call it home... I will probably always call Indiana home as well. I loved being there. Loved it. I think I always took it for granted. The mountains, the cool nights (yes Utahans.. the nights are cool :)), the dry air, family, my mom's amazing garden, my parent's cabin, great friends.... ahh the list goes on. Things there have changed, but that is okay because I've changed too... and so have my kids. Isn't it crazy how fast they grow? I know I am a mom, I have to say that... right? But it's true, very true. Here is the proof...
Last year
This year....

(Place slide show that won't load here)

The pictures were done by the amazing Candi Nicholls... my sister-in-law... she is fantastic! I am in love with these photos, I have many plans for my house now :) Enjoy the slide show with a little bit of Michael Bublé... I love his music and it has been too long since I've had time to enjoy it.  Bah!! Blogger... I can't wait and wait allllll day... and then try it again the next day. Really... really. The slide show just won't load... sadness. I will continue to look for a solution. Until then, here are some of the fabulous photos for you to enjoy...
