Sky
The weather was not what we would have liked during our Nauvoo trip... kinda cold and rainy. The second night we were there, there was a tornado watch and WOW that made for an eventful evening. Get a cabin (we stayed in the cutest little log cabins- more on that later :)) full of Utahans and a tornado warning and the excitement doesn't get better than that! I spent the majority of the time calming my mom and my little sister Jillian (who wanted nothing but to run back to Utah where she was safe). Lucky for us the awful storm never turned into a tornado but it was pretty close. I bet we got about a foot of rain that night and hail the size of a marble. The lightning and thunder got pretty bad and once during the night I woke up to a huge clap of thunder and our smoke alarm went off... I yelled to Dallas to go check if our cabin was on fire... he jumped up but everything was okay (now I was starting to get paranoid). The next morning he didn't remember it ever happening :) but it did.
Luckily the rain came during the night and only one morning that I remember. The rest of the time we were able to enjoy our visit without getting too wet. The sky did look amazing though... Here are two pictures from our drive there and one from our return home... (excuse the dirty window that I was shooting through)
