A very wet and rainy 4th of July

It rained all day yesterday and didn't stop until late that evening. By then it was too wet and cold to for us to even want to go see the fireworks. After the BBQ with our friends we showed Evan some fireworks shows on YouTube and he was ready for bed. So sad, I was looking forward to fireworks this year. Dallas and I were able to see the show from our upstairs window so that made me happy. Here is our cute family at the Maas' home for our indoor BBQ. Aren't we festive in our red, white, and blue :)

The Maas' put up this tarp over their back porch so we all could enjoy being outside. The kids got wet anyway playing with the water that was dripping down.

This is whats left of the yummy dessert I made. It turned out so so good! I found the Reeses mud pie recipe at favfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com try it, you will love it!At least the weather has been beautiful every other day this past week. We really shouldn't complain. It has been in the 70's, partly cloudy, not very humid and we have been loving it! We went to the Columbian Park Zoo on Friday and saw the butterfly exhibit. Oh I loved it so much, probably more than the kids. Definitely more than Evan. I think he was a little scared.
